Girls age 5 – Grade 6
Rocky Sports is a ministry extension of Rocky Mountain Christian Church that exists to serve families across our community through cheerleading. Our staff and coaches are trained through the Built for More Playbooks and complete background checks to provide you and your athlete with a high-quality cheerleading experience. We are committed to providing a positive and encouraging environment where athletes are developed with excellence, integrity, and purpose. Our cheer program coincides with our basketball program in the winter season.
cheerleading WINTER LEAGUE
January 3rd-March 6th, 2027
- Practice Schedule: Teams practice once weekly; practice days may be any day Sunday through Friday.
- Game Days: Will cheer for one hour on the 6 Saturday game days, and during final Tournament Games.
- All practices and games are held at Rocky Mountain Christian Church.
Cheer divisions
K-2nd Grade
- Learn body positions, basic jumps, simple dance
- Understand how to perform as a team
- Learn basic and age appropriate cheer + dance skills
- Foundational stunting + tumbling
- Game day skills and halftime performances
3rd/4th grade
- Build technical precision + strengthen basic skills
- Continue to establish team work + team encouragement

- Building on basics with more advanced combinations
- Focus on team work and developing leadership

When is registration?
Registration for our winter season typically opens in September.
Who can cheer?
Girls from Kindergarten (age 5) to 6th grades. Must be age 5 by January 1 of the upcoming winter season.
What are Uniform Try-ons?
- Upon registration, your confirmation email will include a link to sign up for uniform fittings.
- All cheerleaders must attend a fitting session to determine correct uniform sizes for the season. Proper sizing ensures comfort, performance, and a consistent team appearance.
Can I request a friend, coach, or practice night?
- Yes. During registration, you may submit requests and indicate your priority preference (friend, coach, or practice night). While we do our best to accommodate requests, they cannot be guaranteed due to roster sizes, athlete availability, practice scheduling, and overall team balance.
- Requests may not be possible if athletes register for different locations, if teams reach capacity, or if accommodations would affect team structure and balance.
- Same-night practice requests for siblings are also not guaranteed.
What equipment is required?
- White tennis shoes
- Long-sleeve undershirt (white or black, depending on the uniform color scheme)
- Fitted black under shorts
- Water Bottle
